Greenmount tamed by the Great Dane

On the 18th September, Tweed Heads & Coolangatta SLSC played host to 47 pioneers for the first Queensland based Hydrothon.
Hydrothon Greenmount Beach put on some great but challenge conditions with New South Welshman and Nutri Grain Ironman star, Dane Farrell taking line honours in the open male category in a time of 2:00:16. Dane was closely followed by Sam Fuller & Chad Poland. Chad also took out the O30’s category so his trip up from Nowra was well worth it.
Hydrothon Greenmount was the first event to be opened to team competitors and it was pleasing to see so many mixed teams entered. TH&C SLSC put in a gun team that eventually took out this category followed by the much favoured Barefoot Barrista’s which boasted Iron Women legend Karla Glibert.
The Men’s Team category was won by Team Fenn which included 3 hotshots from the powerhouse BMD Northcliffe surf club.
